Department of Information Processes and Systems (IPS) is the successor of the same name department from the former Institute of Information Technologies - BAS.

Department of Information Processes and Systems (IPS) carry out scientific and applied research in the area of modern information technology application to optimize processes and systems.

Scientific areas of IPS department

• operations research for modelling, design and control of processes and systems,
• software systems for information processing
• modelling and optimization for renewvable energy sources and for night vision devices,
• modelling of processes for optimal job-shop sheduling,
• reprogrammed logical devices for signal processing and VHDL
• methods and software tools for e-learning,
• Web-based applications and Web design.
